I believe in student-centred, concept-based learning that focuses on clarity, understanding, and real-world application. My teaching methodology is rooted in problem-based learning, where students are encouraged to think critically, ask questions, and actively participate rather than rely on rote memorisation. I break down complex scientific concepts into simple, logical steps and use diagrams, examples, and analogies to enhance understanding.
I adapt my teaching style according to the learner’s level and pace. I regularly assess students through short quizzes, oral questioning, and practice problems to ensure learning objectives are being met. Where appropriate, I integrate visual aids, digital tools, and real research examples, especially in biology and genetics, to strengthen conceptual understanding.
A typical lesson lasts 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the student’s level and learning needs. Each lesson usually includes a brief review of previous content, an explanation of new concepts, guided practice, and time for questions and clarification.
I hold a Ph.D. in Zoology, an M.Phil in Biotechnology, and an M.Sc in Zoology, with strong academic and research experience in molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology, and medical microbiology. I have over 10 years of teaching experience, including my current role as a Science and Mathematics teacher (PST) in a government high school, as well as experience as an honorary university lecturer and school science teacher. I also have research publications and international conference presentations, which allow me to bring an academic and research-oriented perspective into my teaching.
My lessons are designed for school-level students (middle and secondary level) studying science, as well as college and undergraduate students in biology, zoology, biotechnology, and related life sciences.
