About Helena
I am a guitar tutor with over 4 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Digital Guitar Performance. I create lessons tailored for beginners, advanced players, and aspiring blues masters. My areas of specialisation include slide guitar, open tunings, and fingerpicking techniques. Students explore blues traditions such as Delta, Chicago, and Piedmont styles. My teaching approach is encouraging, structured, and focused on expressive, authentic playing. Lessons combine technical drills, improvisation, and performance exercises. I emphasise rhythm, feel, and phrasing that bring blues music to life. Students gain confidence, fluency, and a personal musical voice. Digital tools allow students to record, review, and refine their skills. Every session encourages experimentation, creativity, and artistic exploration. I focus on connecting technical skill with the emotional depth of the music. Students leave lessons inspired, skilled, and expressive. Together, we’ll unlock the rich heritage of the blues through your guitar playing.

I teach guitar with an emphasis on songwriting, chord progression, and lyrical composition. Lessons cover arranging acoustic pieces, melody development, and musical storytelling. My methodology fosters structured creativity, allowing students to turn ideas into songs effectively. The Blues Seeker and The Aspiring Rock Star receive personalised guidance to develop original compositions. I emphasise harmony, rhythm, phrasing, and expressive performance. Each session combines technical exercises with creative exploration. Students practise arranging their pieces for solo or ensemble contexts. Lessons build confidence, musicality, and personal artistic voice. I encourage experimentation while maintaining focus on song completion. Every lesson is interactive, motivating, and tailored to individual goals. Students gain practical tools to refine chords, lyrics, and arrangements. I guide learners to express themselves fully through their music. Together, we’ll craft your ideas into complete, expressive songs.
