About Jo
Jo has been a drummer since the age of 11. She is self-taught but has a musical background having learned theory through having clarinet lessons and playing in a youth orchestra. She went on to play in various bands and has recorded albums. She also writes her own songs on the guitar for herself and her band. She currently plays in a covers band who gig regularly. In this band she plays funk, soul, pop, blues, RnB and disco styles. She had previously played in bands from a range of styles including punk, rock, pop, indie, fusion. Jo is familiar with the grading system so if you wish to take grades, she can take you through this process.

Jo offers personalised lessons for children and adults, whether you're a complete beginner or you want to improve your skills and playing. Jo can teach you at your home or in a public place. She will travel up to 20 km from Darwen. She will also teach you online if this is your preference (good wifi connection and device is required). All levels of players are welcome! Learn in a dedicated studio from a drummer with 20+ years' experience of playing and performing and 15 years working with children. DBS checked, safeguarding trained and public liability insured. Each lesson is tailored to your learning style, skill level and your personal goals. Learn how to get set up, technique, rudiments, timing, a range of styles and reading drum music. Play along to your favourite songs, improvisation, singing and playing skills for playing and performing in a band. Jo offers several rates for lessons: £20 for 30 mins - ideal for beginners and younger children £25 for 45 mins - ideal for those who have had some beginner lessons or older children and adults £30 for 60 mins - ideal for those who have progressed past beginner stage and older children and adults who want more time to develop their skills or prepare for exams if they wish to enter for them.

Also an option for a 1 hour lesson fortnightly for those who are not able to have a weekly lesson.
