About Sofija
I have been a tutor for over two years. I have tutored 23 students from ages of 10 all the way to 18. Tutoring in various science subjects, including chemistry, biology and mathematics. With my guidance, students have been able to achieve great results including an A in GCSE chemistry, and an A star in A level biology. Having myself completed the IB, I am able to teach a verity of syllabuses and in a verity of different teaching styles. I can provide broad overviews of general topics, as well as the fine details of structures such as nucleosomes. I believe in adjusting to my student and teaching that is best for him - whether that is through hands on activities, oral presentations or interactive games.

Hey! My name is Sofija, I am originally from Russia but now live in London. I am a First Year Biology Undergraduate Student at Durham University and have a passion for teaching others. Having lived in 5 different countries and having attended 6 different schools, I have gotten comfortable with communicating with a variety of different people over the years.
I have achieved 40 points in the International Baccalaureate with a 7 in Higher Level Biology and a 7 in Higher Level Russian B. Further I completed my E-Assessments receiving a 7 in Integrated Sciences and other disciplines.
I love structured lessons, where goals are presented at the start of each session. During my time at university as well as school, having plans for my revision sessions allowed me to work cumulatively towards a goal and achieve good results. Having a plan also allows for better use of time and allows the student to know exactly what is expected of them in the session. Nonetheless, I will always move at the students pace - if there are any urgent topics that require revision, or some concepts which are harder to understand, this will always be the priority.
