About Kini
I am an enthusiastic piano tutor with 15 years of professional teaching experience, having successfully taught around 300 students. My learners include teenagers, college students, and adults pursuing personal growth, performance skills, or exam preparation.
My teaching philosophy focuses on strong technical foundations and musical expression. I emphasise posture, hand coordination, finger independence, rhythm, scales, sight-reading, and music theory. Students learn not just how to play but also how to interpret and connect with music emotionally.
Lessons are balanced between technique, repertoire, and theory. Beginners gain confidence through simple pieces and exercises, while advanced students refine performance skills and explore complex compositions. Many students have achieved excellent examination results and performed confidently in recitals.
My mission is to inspire students to become confident, expressive, and independent pianists who enjoy their musical journey.

My piano teaching approach focuses on flexibility, collaboration, positivity, and adapting to each student’s learning style. I believe that music education should be personalised. Some students are visual learners who benefit from written exercises, while others are auditory or hands-on learners. I adjust my lessons to suit each individual’s strengths.
I begin by building a strong foundation in technique, rhythm control, finger strength, and reading music. I ensure students understand the theory behind what they play, not just the notes. Lessons are structured but flexible. If a student struggles with a concept, I modify the explanation and provide alternative exercises until they feel confident.
Collaboration is central to my teaching. I involve students in setting goals and selecting pieces that match their skill level and interests. This motivates them to practise consistently. I maintain a positive learning environment where students feel safe to ask questions and explore creativity.
Beyond piano, I also teach music theory, sight-reading skills, keyboard harmony, and basic composition. These subjects help students gain a deeper understanding of music. My aim is to develop independent learners who can practise effectively and express themselves confidently through piano.
