About Ryan
Currently completing a PGCE in Secondary English at the University of York, I am a dedicated and motivated trainee teacher with a great deal of experience working with children and young people.
A well-mannered, polite individual, I enjoy working with students on a day to day basis. A natural leader, I possess an intrinsic desire help my students to achieve their potential and demonstrate commitment to this in everything I do. It is acknowledged by many that teaching is not for the faint-hearted and this is certainly a view I share; particularly given the current controversies surrounding education such as the recent changes to the curriculum, or increasing number of Academies. I face these challenges with confidence, ensuring that I provide all of my students with access to the education they need, and deserve to succeed in the 21st Century. I believe a teacher should be knowledgeable, resilient, compassionate and above all else, inspirational in order to engage learners and this is something I will continually strive to achieve.
I have familiarity with Edexcel, AQA and OCR specifications for GCSE and A-Level qualifications in English and English Literature and have worked with these to create inspiring lessons for my students.
