About Isla
My interest in Economics began with observing how decisions influence markets, communities, and society. This inspired me to pursue a B.A. in Economics and Development Studies, providing a strong foundation in both theoretical and applied economics. Over 9 years of teaching, I have helped students develop analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and practical understanding through structured, engaging lessons. I teach with patience, clarity, and encouragement, using real-world examples, diagrams, and exercises to help learners internalize concepts. I adapt lessons to each student’s pace, ensuring they feel confident and motivated while exploring complex economic principles. Outside teaching, I follow contemporary economic research, policy developments, and global trends, integrating these insights into my lessons. Supporting students as they grow into informed, analytical, and confident thinkers is one of the most rewarding aspects of my teaching career.

My approach emphasizes clarity, structured guidance, and active exploration, fostering both understanding and confidence.
Intermediate lessons cover elasticity, production, cost functions, macroeconomic indicators like GDP and inflation, and policy evaluation. I teach students to read graphs, interpret data, and structure logical arguments. Exercises are designed to enhance analytical reasoning and critical thinking, ensuring learners gain practical skills alongside theoretical knowledge.
Advanced topics include international trade, fiscal and monetary policies, economic growth, and case study evaluation. Students learn to analyze complex situations, compare perspectives, and develop reasoned conclusions. My goal is to equip learners with both academic competence and real-world insight, creating confident, analytical thinkers capable of applying economic reasoning beyond the classroom.
