About Alfredo
I am Alfredo Giménez, graduated from the Jazz and Modern Music electric bass performance career at the Conservatori Superior del Liceu and later graduated with a Master's degree in Jazz performance at Codarts University of the Arts.
I am passionate about music and that is why I really enjoy sharing what I know through teaching. I base my classes on the idea of keeping track of the student and adapting to their needs and learning process.
I am currently a studio and live musician active in the Jazz scenes of Barcelona and Holland. I work with various bands as a bassist and mixing engineer, as well as having my own projects as a leader. As a composer and arranger I have written original music and arrangements for projects on the European Jazz scene such as The Mëtz Foundation or Nakumba, as well as for the Big Band of the Conservatori Superior del Liceu and the Big Band of Codarts.

My methodology is based on adapting the content of the lesson and the way of teaching it to the needs and learning process of the student.
The most efficient way to learn music is through motivation and for this reason I place great emphasis on the idea of working on the music that the student listens to. No matter what genre of music we work on, any type of music can make you improve in all aspects.
During the lessons I try to cover the following points:
- Technique and knowledge of the instrument.
- Perception and rhythmic performance.
- Theory applied to composition and improvisation.
- Development of the melodic and harmonic ear.
For students who are just starting out, I emphasize the idea of learning from the experience of playing and understanding the instrument and I let the theoretical part appear naturally once there is already a certain connection with the instrument.
