About Zi
Hi! I’m Zi, a professional elementary school and ESL teacher based in Toronto. I have over five years of experience teaching ESL, Math, and Mandarin to children and adults from different backgrounds.
I was born in Shanghai and moved to Toronto when I was 10 years old, so I understand both the challenges of learning a new language and adjusting to a brand new environment! My goal is to create an environment where my students feel comfortable and welcomed so I can help them grow in their journey.

Mandarin
A typical lesson begins with a short review, followed by a new topic or skill. We then practice together through exercises, discussions, games, or real-life scenarios. I finish each lesson by reviewing key points and giving helpful feedback.
What sets me apart is my experience working with students of different ages and cultures! As someone who moved from Shanghai to Toronto as a child, I understand the challenges of learning a new language and just surviving in a new country.
My lessons are suitable for children, teenagers, and adults, from beginner to intermediate levels. I would be very happy to support you in your journey!
