About Alyssa

I am a young special education teacher new to my teaching career but not new to working with children! I have worked with children from various backgrounds for over 5 years. This includes my work for Fraser, the Minneapolis Crisis Nursery, Minneapolis Public Schools, nannying positions, tutoring positions, and more. I believe that my professional and personal experiences have given me the opportunity to develop skills in responding to challenging behaviors and building trust with students, using student strengths to increase motivation and engagement, and creating lessons and interventions that are individualized and engaging!

My job requires me to curate lessons and interventions that are highly individualized and student-centered. This is a skill I would apply to any tutoring services that I offer to ensure that students are making adequate growth in their areas of need. I am able to use grade-level curriculum and provide supplemental support, identify interventions and design lessons for students performing below grade-level, or a combination of both!
