With over seven years of experience in K-6 special education, I specialize in supporting students with learning disabilities, autism, emotional disturbances, and intellectual disabilities. During direct instruction, I model concepts and apply bar modeling to visualize complex math problems, emphasizing their connection to abstract formulas. In guided practice, I provide scaffolded support, offering feedback and coaching to help students build confidence. Independent practice follows, where students work autonomously, with monitoring and intervention as needed. Finally, I close with a review, encourage questions, and provide positive reinforcement, ensuring students feel confident in their progress. Formative assessments help inform future lessons and support continued growth.
