About Kerel
I'm a dedicated basketball coach with a deep understanding of the game, both as a player and a coach. My journey began on the court, playing at the CCAA level for Georgian College (where I was a leading scorer) and Concordia University (where we went to nationals). I've also competed at the semi-pro level in FIBA 3x3, and I'm a 6-time finalist in the Full Court 21. My expertise is built on a foundation of continuous learning and hands-on experience. I hold certifications from IMPACT Basketball and the Jr. NBA, and I've completed courses with Emergence, focusing on modern coaching techniques. I've had the privilege of running basketball programs for the YMCA in Innisfil and even participated in a coaching clinic with the Toronto Raptors coaching staff. As a coach, I've worked with a wide range of athletes, from players as young as five years old to elite college and professional players from leagues like the NCAA, CCAA, CEBL, U SPORTS, and The Asian Tournament.

My coaching philosophy is built on the Constraints-Led Approach (CLA), a powerful and modern method used by top professional coaches. Unlike traditional coaching that relies on isolated drills and fixed techniques, the CLA is all about learning in a realistic, game-like environment. How It Works I intentionally set up constraints during our sessions—these are specific rules or challenges that force you to find your own creative solutions to game-related problems while steering you away from inefficient solutions. By placing these "constraints," you'll be actively discovering and developing your own movement solutions and strategies, just like you would in a real game. This process teaches you how to adapt, perceive, and make better decisions under pressure. What This Means for You You'll learn to "read the game" better. Instead of mindlessly repeating drills, you'll become more aware of game situations and learn to solve problems as they emerge. You'll develop a higher basketball feel. This method helps you become a more intelligent player who can think on their feet and make the right decision at the right time.
