About Thomas

As a native of the Dominican Republic, Spanish is not only my mother tongue but also a language deeply rooted in my cultural identity. Additionally, I embarked on my own language learning journey as a student, mastering German during my teenage years when I moved to Germany. This personal experience of learning a foreign language fuels my empathy and understanding towards my students.

Teaching languages has been my passion since the young age of 18. Over the years, I have had the privilege of guiding students in broadening their horizons and embracing new cultures through my expertise in both Spanish and German. My teaching experience encompasses a wide range of settings, including companies, mentoring at the University of Hamburg's Intercultural Student Seminar, and instructing students in public schools.

As a teacher, I pride myself on being a versatile generalist capable of teaching students at any language level. My knowledge and interests span a broad spectrum, ensuring a well-rounded and engaging learning experience for my students. With a bachelor's degree in business administration and a master's degree in Latin American Studies, specializing in politics and migration, from the prestigious University of Hamburg, I bring a deep understanding of the cultural and social contexts that shape the languages I teach.

If you are seeking a competent and charismatic teacher to guide you on your journey of learning Spanish and/or German, look no further. I am here to provide you with an enriching and enjoyable language learning experience. Together, we will conquer new linguistic territories and expand your communication skills. Join me, and let's embark on this exciting language learning adventure together!

Introducing the YaHablas-Method: Speak Spanish from Day One and Master the Language!

Are you tired of traditional language learning methods that focus too much on grammar and not enough on practical conversation skills? Look no further! I have developed the revolutionary YaHablas-Method, a groundbreaking approach that prioritizes speaking from the very beginning.

With the YaHablas-Method, you'll embark on an exciting language learning journey where I guide you through the intricacies of Spanish grammar while simultaneously honing your pronunciation, stress patterns, and sentence formulation. No more tedious grammar drills or dull exercises—this method keeps you engaged and motivated as you progress.

One of the key components of the YaHablas-Method is our unique "Question and Answer" catalog, featuring the most commonly used interrogatives like who, what, how, why, when, and more. We use these fundamental building blocks to construct mini dialogues based on your real-life context, ensuring that your language learning experience remains relevant and practical.

But that's not all! In addition to mastering basic grammar structures, we also dive into the world of modal verbs. You'll learn how to express your desires with "to want," showcase your abilities with "to can," and seek permission or ask for obligations with "tener que." These essential tools will empower you to communicate effectively right from the start.

To make your learning even more immersive, we take a virtual tour of a bustling city. Together, we navigate its streets, ask for directions, describe the locations of various places, shops, and institutions. Through these simulated conversations, you'll gain confidence in real-life scenarios and develop the skills to communicate naturally with locals.

Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to learn Spanish in a dynamic, engaging, and practical way. Join the YaHablas-Method and unlock your true potential as a Spanish speaker. Get ready to navigate the Spanish-speaking world with ease and fluency!
