I am a professionally registered structural engineer with a B.Sc Eng degree in civil engineering and a B. Eng honours degree in structural engineering and 20 years industry experience. I have site and office based experience and I have worked alongside other discipline engineers, contractors, project managers and architects. I believe teaching and mentoring is part of the duties of a professional.

About the lesson

Lessons and discussions are centred around the structural engineering challenges faced by the student/young engineer. Practical solutions are applied to design problems. Different methods and approaches to solving a design problem are discussed. Key concepts and fundamental principles are highlighted. Guidance is given on presentation of calculations and report writing.
