About Hannah
During my time as a secondary school history teacher, I taught both KS3 and KS4, but also have a strong knowledge of the KS5 curriculum. I worked with students of all abilities, with sets ranging from set 1 - set 4. This means that I have the resources and teaching skills available to cater for all students.
In my most recent results, I had a 100% pass rate for my history class. The GCSE exam board at my school for GCSE history is AQA, studying Germany, Cold War, Health and Restoration England. Although I have numerous resources and knowledge in these subject areas, I would be more than capable of tutoring other GCSE exam boards due to the similar skills needed in all the new GCSEs.
I also help with extra-curriculur clubs in the school, one of the most popular being a debating club. This helps students gain the extra skills necessary, such as confidence and public speaking, to really succeed in all of their subjects.

My approach to tutoring is to come to an understanding with the student as to which areas they feel need the most work. I then create a targeted, student-specific plan that takes into consideration different timescales and areas to focus on.
From my experience, I have found that students sometimes just have to focus on one specific area of the subject e.g. long answers at the end of each history paper in order to really improve their historical ability.
As we all focused, tailored 1-1 support, I also set the student assignments each week to make sure that they are going back and over and revising topics. All of my lessons will be aligned with the National Curriculum and will parallel what students are doing at school.
