About Kelsey
I am a civil/structural engineer with 5 years of engineering experience working in Dallas. Currently, I teach english and math online to Japanese children.
I tutored classmates throughout college and also participated in the AVID tutoring program tutoring junior high students.
You often hear people say they'll never use math in the real world, but I'm one of the people that use it every day at work :) I understand math can be tricky sometimes, especially now in the new virtual learning world, but with practice everyone can be good at math!

The AVID tutoring I participated in focused on the "socratic method" or asking questions to help the student understand the concept so they reach the answer through their own thought process. I try to use that method as opposed to lecturing. I also try to present information in whichever learning style best suites you. I am a visual learner, what kind of learner are you? It really helps to see that problems can be solved in many ways.
