About Joel Michael
I was awarded in high school for achievement in math and science (and art but that's not quite something to tutor). I graduated top 10%.
I attended the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology for Civil Engineering, graduating Cum Laude. I worked at a Structural Engineer for a big consulting company doing design calculations mostly; at that time I also earned my Master's Degree in Civil Engineering at ASU.
In college I regularly tutored friends and fraternity brothers. On the job I was great at explaining things to new hires, naturally.
My love for sharing knowledge comes from being a little neurodivergent, and it leads to plenty of friends thinking I'm snobby and bragging and I think I know everything - but really I'm excited to see you learn something because knowledge is cool and that's why I'm a nerd.
I did leave engineering a few years ago because after years of math and science, I decided to give that art thing a try. But all the math nerdiness is still there.

I'm a big nerd and I love learning because I love breaking up the concepts and seeing it in different ways so I can share it with more people.
My goal is to not just get you to repeat steps, but to get you to see the solution and understand the concepts. Then you'll be excited about the subject matter, less intimated by the problems.
In college I continually helped other students with homework and worked as a grader for a professor. I have a good way of going back to where you're starting from, to better explain the steps as you need to understand it all.
