About James
I am an enthusiastic university student hoping to assist A-Level students with their studies. Having recently been in the same shoes, I understand that it is difficult to revise without guidance. Hence, my aim is to help students achieve the grades they want, allowing them to progress further with their studies.
During my time at school, I have had experience teaching a year 7 class, as well as individual pupils from year 8-12. This has given me an insight into teaching and tutoring, and I find it heavily rewarding to help others achieve their academic goals. My biggest achievement was helping my tutees who were predicted 4s and 5s at GCSEs obtain 7s and 8s in their final exams, as well as others achieving As at AS Level.

GCSES: 9 GCSEs graded 9-8 (A*), 2 GCSEs graded 7 (A), A* in Chinese and EPQ

I have been tutoring for the past 6 years, and have worked with students of all kind of abilities. My teaching style involves finding a tutee's weaker topics and ensuring they understand the concepts, strengthening their grasp of the topic. I also like to focus on exam technique by using past paper questions as they act as a great pre-requisite for the actual exams.
Having recently graduated from secondary school, I am able to explain concepts in a way easy to understand for those studying A-Level. I have a relaxed teaching approach, with a focus on exam practice and technique. A typical lesson will begin with an introduction, or a recap of the previous session, followed by a topic that a tutee may be less confident on. I like to finish on an exam question so that the tutee can have a grasp of what to expect in the final exam.
