About Nicole
I graduated from Ashbury College (High School) in 2008 and immediately did four years of a Psychology degree at Ryerson University. I decided it wasn't a fit for me and took time to travel the world, for 8 years to be precise. I've worked in hospitality and tourism, i've worked in customer service, i've even worked on cruise ships. I've volunteered with museums and worked as a research assistant for the last year. I also currently work in animal care. Three years ago I returned to Ryerson and this April I completed my Bachelors Degree in History. I may have mentioned many times my passion for learning. In that, I will be returning to Ryerson in 2021 to add a few professional certificates to my pedigree and I am also planning on returning for my Masters Degree within the next few years (after a well needed break from the last three years of intense study)

I like to create a structure based on each students needs. Together, we initially address goals and learning styles and create a methodology that we will follow. I understand that learning can be very difficult and that each student has their own unique learning needs. It is important to me to have that discussion with the student so we can approach the material in an interesting way that allows them to actually absorb whats being taught. Learning is supposed to be fun. That may sound cliche, but how wonderful does it feel to be able to do well academically or recite information or even understand something completely when you open a book or read the news. I think it's important to be an advocate for the student to feel successful and eager to learn.
