About Katy
Having worked with students of many ages and backgrounds, I understand how crucial developing reading and writing skills can be. Being able to articulate yourself well and communicate helps build confidence and can help develop a strong sense of self. I would love to help you develop these skills!
Before completing my Masters degree in London, I worked for five years in finance in New York and had a career in nonprofit in Washington DC. I also have experience as curriculum developer and tutor/mentor for Destination College, where I supported high school students (age 12-18) in supplementary English and Leadership Programs. I completed by BA from Fordham University with dual degrees in English and International Political Economy.
I am also a writer myself having put on a play in Bloomsbury Studio & Theater in London.
My diverse background means I have written in many different setting for many different reasons. This is why I feel confident we can find the approach that works best for individual students depending on their needs.

I tailor my tutoring to support the needs of each individual student. I strive to offer a supportive and welcoming atmosphere in my sessions. Students will walk away with more confidence and improved reading and writing skills. I have a great deal of work experience across a variety of sectors. I can also help coach students on CV building and specialize in supporting students who want to study internationally.
Lessons are 45-60 minutes depending upon student needs. We can always adjust as necessary.
Lessons are for Key Stage 3 & 4 students who need general support in English, Reading, and essay writing. I also specialize in supporting students who are considering studying internationally.
