About Elena
I am a qualified English language teacher and bilingual English–Russian language professional with over 30 years of teaching experience. I hold a university degree in English Language and Literature, a TESOL certificate obtained in London, and an MA in Audiovisual Translation and Translating Popular Culture from a London university.
I have 15 years of experience hosting and teaching international students in the UK, both adults and teenagers, from complete beginners to advanced learners. My students have come from around the world, each with different goals and expectations, and all have achieved positive results and provided excellent feedback.
Alongside teaching, I have worked for 15 years as a professional interpreter in the UK, including for the Ministry of Justice and Home Office, developing extensive knowledge of legal terminology and professional communication.
Why do I teach? Because I genuinely love the English language and enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. I find it particularly rewarding to help students overcome language barriers, gain confidence and discover their ability to express themselves naturally and accurately.
I believe that successful learning comes from individual attention, stimulating conversation and lessons that are both intellectually engaging and enjoyable. My greatest satisfaction is seeing my students make real progress and achieve their goals.
