About Lucy
Hi! I'm Lucy and I'm a recent English graduate from the University of Cambridge. I love medieval manuscripts, the modernist poets and Jane Austen and I'm really excited to pass on my love for my subject!
I have over a year of experience tutoring in English and university admissions.
Having recently gone through the Oxbridge admissions process I'm well equipped to guide you through what the process of applying to university entails and put your mind at ease about some of the more daunting aspects. I have a first class degree in English and was top 10 in my year for academic achievement. I have A-A* qualifications in my A Levels - English Literature, History and Latin - as well as an EPQ and an AS in Drama and Theatre Studies.

I can promise sessions which are well-structured and tailored towards your personal needs. Once we have a clear idea of where I can provide the most helpful support, we can work towards creating a plan which will be most beneficial to you, including working through key concepts together, revising content, learning facts and quotations and, most importantly, keeping an eye on exam technique by working through past papers together!
I'm very happy to look through example questions during or before sessions so we can go through these together, and set questions for you to work on between sessions if that would be helpful - nothing too time consuming as I know how stressful GCSE and A Levels can be!
At Cambridge, teaching is structured around one-on-one supervisions where we discuss reading and essays completed prior to the session. This is a great way to get straight into interesting and beneficial discussion, so I can set reading before our sessions and we can get cracking as soon as the session starts - this will also help give you a good base for a personal statement and university application where reading around the subject is key!
