About Mark
I have experience of teaching, advising and guiding students through a wide range of internationally recognised English language exams with an excellent success rate. Further to this, I served as a fully accredited Cambridge ESOL lower and upper suite examiner from 2006 until 2008, as an IELTS oral & writing examiner from 2010 until 2014 and I have been an OET (Occupational English Test) interlocutor since May 2019. In addition, I have specialised teaching qualifications (TEFLA & DELTA) and a master's degree in education. Having prepared students for a variety of exams and taught a wide-range of levels, I am certain that my experience and knowledge will be an asset to any prospective learners.

I try to promote a student-centred approach to learning. This incorporates a task-based learning method of teaching which encourages a ‘learning by doing’ philosophy. This is applied using the whole language approach and not isolating the key skills. As a result, the learners become engaged in constructive tasks and learning is achieved through teacher intervention and frequent feedback. I feel that this teaching approach is particularly relevant to preparing students for a variety of situations, where they need to acquire new language and skills and be able to perform to the best of their ability.
