About Mariana
Hi! My name is Mariana, and I have been in the classroom practically since I graduated in English in 1995! I thought I would be a teacher only temporarily, but I found that being in class is, in addition to being very challenging, fun. And I know that in serious or relaxed moments I am a bridge that helps to simplify and make the language, and your learning, more possible and real for each one. I like to use movies, series, songs, vocabulary games, online quiz, things that bring English closer to you. Activities that are pleasurable and at the same time bring you closer to your goal of learning to speak, write, get your TOEFL / TOEIC certification. Anyway, everyone has their own project and mine is to be a facilitator in your journey with English. I have 25 years of experience in English schools with children, teens and adults. This past year we have been doing everything online.

I like to teach using a textbook, but we can also make it more free. We can use music and movies to talk about vocabulary and tenses, and expand, always. Using authentic English content opens endless doors. In my work I use Four Corners for the basic and intermediate levels, and iDentities for the advanced levels.
