About Tina
As an experienced pianist and dedicated educator, my journey in music has been shaped by a deep passion for both classical and jazz piano. With over three years of teaching experience, I have had the privilege of guiding students of all ages and skill levels on their musical journeys. My approach to teaching is grounded in a commitment to fostering a love for music while providing comprehensive instruction tailored to each student's unique needs and aspirations.
My own musical background includes extensive training in classical piano, as well as exploration and performance in jazz and other contemporary genres. This diverse musical palette allows me to offer students a well-rounded education that encompasses both traditional and modern approaches to piano playing. Whether students are interested in mastering classical repertoire, delving into jazz improvisation, or exploring their own musical interests, I am dedicated to helping them achieve their goals.
In my teaching practice, I prioritize creating a supportive and nurturing learning environment where students feel empowered to explore and express themselves through music. I believe in fostering a collaborative relationship with my students, encouraging open communication, and tailoring lessons to meet their individual learning styles and preferences. I begin by assessing the student's current skill level, musical interests, and learning objectives. This initial evaluation serves as the foundation for tailoring the lesson content and instructional approach to suit the individual needs and preferences of each student. Whether the student is a beginner or an advanced pianist, I strive to create a supportive and stimulating learning environment where they feel motivated to explore and excel.
During the lesson, I employ a variety of teaching techniques and resources to engage the student and facilitate learning. This includes incorporating classical repertoire, jazz standards, and other musical genres to broaden their musical horizons. I also emphasize the importance of fundamental skills such as technique, sight-reading, and music theory, providing students with a well-rounded musical education.
