About Grace
Hi! I'm Grace and I hope to be a help in reaching the next steps in your scientific career. I am studying biology at Cardiff University. Whether GCSE or A level, I believe a passion and interest in the subject is essential for understanding and engaging with it, so someone like me who really enjoys biology after achieving consistent A*s can help you to LOVE it and not dread it, and to get to grips with the topics. I have tutored for a year now and have taught at all level, bringing a fresh and engaging approach to science which you may not get from school. I will help you with learning the content, answer any questions you have and offer my best revision tips, personalised to you after getting to know your learning style.

My sessions will start with a clear determination of the learning outcomes, as well as what you want out of it. I will ask you what you understand of the topic first, to tailor the session to your needs. The structure will be flexible but my approach generally is to ask plenty of questions and get the tutee really thinking about and exploring the topic. I aim to make the time fun and engaging, and not something to dread, by using quizzes and other active materials to assist your learning. At the end of the session, the key concepts will be summarised and I will ensure you understand them. If not, we will devise a plan together moving forwards of how to nail it next time. This may involve me recommending resources, youtube videos and webpages for example. To measure progress I will keep a note of which topics you stuggle with and which you're more confident with using a traffic light system, and ensure the 'red' areas are studied with more priority.
