About Yordan
I am a first (going into second) year physics student at Imperial College with a desire to teach and most importantly, inspire students to achieve their best. Having recently been through the GCSE and A-level processes and come out with excellent grades, I can attest to the seeming impossibility of the task ahead, but with the correct guidance and motivation any student can achieve what they desire.
I volunteered in our school during Sixth-form to help out the GCSE students with any difficulties they had, and have experience working privately, tutoring 11-17 year olds in beginner's Python.

Overall, the student is the most important part of the teaching process and my methodology heavily reflects this.
My lessons are loosely structured around a repeated cycle of careful, patient explanation and discussion of the ideas underpinning the material, followed by a short but methodical example and finally asking the student to lead me through a few more examples themselves.
Taking care to ensure that the student understands the concepts at the core of the topic is essential, as these can be built upon and make learning the topic a more intuitive and easygoing experience.
I value the importance in seeing eye-to-eye with the tutee and keeping a strong open line of communication. If they see me as their equal, students will have no trouble asking for help or further explanation. In my experience of GCSEs and A-levels, silently struggling under an inattentive teacher is all too common.
