About Tesher
Hi, I'm Tesher.
I'm a 4th-year at UVA studying French and Global Security & Justice. I'm a writer and Managing Editor for an undergraduate human rights journal and an editor for the Virginia Undergraduate Law Review, which means I've spent the last two years helping writers in every field turn messy drafts into arguments and publication-ready versions they're actually proud of.
What I've found, working with a lot of different writers, is that the hardest part is rarely the writing itself. It's figuring out what you're really trying to say—and then trusting yourself to say it plainly and genuinely.
That's what I try to help with in essay coaching. Not polishing your grammar or making your essay sound more impressive, but helping you find the angle that's genuinely yours and make it land. The essays that tend to work aren't the ones with the most dramatic stories. They're the ones that feel honest and specific.

A typical session might involve talking through ideas, reviewing a draft, identifying areas that feel unclear or underdeveloped, and creating a plan for revision. I'll provide honest feedback, ask questions, and help you strengthen your writing while making sure the final essay remains entirely your own. I will go line-by-line with you throughout the process, offering the feedback you need to create the most authentic and high-impact application.
My goal is simple: when you submit your application, I want you to feel confident that your essay genuinely reflects who you are.
