About Laurie
My interest in Excel began with curiosity about how data can be organized, analyzed, and used to support better decision making. This interest led me to pursue a Bachelor’s in Data Analytics, where I developed strong skills in data handling and spreadsheet tools. Over the past 9 years, I have taught students and working professionals, helping them gain confidence and efficiency in using Excel. Teaching has become a very meaningful part of my career, as I enjoy helping learners develop practical skills that are useful in real life.
My teaching style is structured, simple, and hands on. I break down each concept into small, clear steps so students can understand easily without confusion. I use real world examples and guided exercises to make learning practical and engaging. I also encourage students to ask questions, practice consistently, and build confidence step by step so they can improve steadily without feeling overwhelmed.
Beyond teaching, I continue exploring new Excel features, tools, and data techniques to stay updated with current industry practices. This allows me to bring relevant and practical knowledge into my lessons. I believe Excel is not just a software tool but an essential skill for productivity and problem solving. My goal is to help students become confident and independent users who can manage data efficiently, create accurate reports, and solve real world problems effectively while building long term confidence and professional skills.

My Excel lessons are designed to make learning practical, structured, and easy to understand for every student. I begin with fundamental topics such as data entry, formatting, and basic formulas, explaining each step in very simple and clear English. I focus on helping students understand how Excel functions work rather than memorizing them. I use real life examples such as budgeting, inventory tracking, and report creation so students can clearly see how Excel is used in everyday situations. I also create a comfortable and supportive environment where students feel confident asking questions and practicing regularly without hesitation.
As students gain confidence, I introduce more advanced topics such as logical functions, charts, pivot tables, data validation, and basic data analysis tools. I guide students step by step through working with real datasets, helping them understand how to organize, analyze, and present data effectively. Practice exercises are included in every lesson to improve speed, accuracy, and efficiency. I also help students identify errors and correct them through clear explanations and guided practice. Each lesson is carefully structured to build strong practical skills and steady progress over time.
Excel becomes a powerful tool when students learn how to use it independently to solve real problems and manage data efficiently. I focus on helping learners develop logical thinking so they can approach tasks with confidence and clarity. Over time, students become more comfortable handling complex spreadsheets and creating meaningful reports. My goal is to help students build strong Excel skills, improve productivity, and apply their knowledge effectively in academic, professional, and real world situations while developing confidence, independence, and long term proficiency in using spreadsheet tools.
