Stages in learning each private class meeting (1 hour)

1. Preview
(I will give students a picture according to the topic of the material and ask students what the subject is doing in the picture, so that they naturally open up to the topic of the material. At this stage I will explore students' knowledge of the topic. After knowing understanding students regarding what will be learned at the meeting, I will explain the purpose of learning the topic)

2. Conversation
(I will present a simple conversation related to the topic. This conversation contains vocabulary and grammar that will be studied. At this stage, I will practice conversations with students)

3. Vocabulary
(I will present pictorial vocabulary and ask the students which vocabulary the students know. I will show you the proper way to pronounce the vocabulary and then I will ask the students to follow the pronunciation method. The next stage can be done after the students have memorized the vocabulary. At this stage, the method I will use is to use an image and a flash card)

4. Grammar
(I will explain the grammar directly at the meeting. One of the methods I use is to use tables, formulas and examples of usage. At this stage, students will be given practice questions related to the use of grammar. The questions to be given are not only in the form of writing on the slide but also listening)

5. Write
(I will give instructions in narrative writing and ask students to write and complete the narrative)

6. Pronunciation
(I will explain directly about the pronunciation material at the meeting. One of the methods I use is to use tables, formulas and examples of usage. At this stage, students will be given practice questions related to the use of pronunciation with oral answers) [N ]
7. Assignment
(I will give assignments for each meeting that students must complete before starting the next meeting)

8. Exam
(I will give an exam at the end of the level to find out how well the students understand the material that has been taught in 1 level)

I apply this quote in the classes I teach.

The quote comes from Xunzi. Xun Kuang was a Chinese Confucian philosopher who lived from 312-230 BC. His work was collected into a set of 32 books called Xunzi, by Liu Xiang in around 818 AD. There are block copies of these books that are nearly 1100 years old.

The 8th book is entitled Ruxiao ("The Teachings of the Ru"). The quote above is from Chapter 11 of that book. In Mandarin the quote is:

不 聞 不 若 聞 之 , 聞 之 不 若 見 之 , 見 之 不 若 知 之 , 知 之 不 若 行 之 ; 學 至於 行 而止 矣 。── 孔子 [N ]
Translate:
