About Anne
Hello, I'm Anne. As a registered ARDMS sonographer with 11 years of experience in abdomen, OB/GYN, and most vascular exams, I am dedicated to helping you succeed on your CORE or Generalist exams. Over the past 5 years, I have successfully guided multiple students in mastering scanning techniques and perfecting their trade.
Teaching has been the core of my professional life. My background includes earning an elementary education teaching certificate and instructing students on how to build computer networks at Boston University. Having dyslexia myself, I understand that learning can be a unique challenge, which I believe makes me a more empathetic and effective teacher. Because everyone processes information differently, I intentionally integrate seeing, saying, doing, and listening into my lessons to accommodate all learning styles.
No matter where you currently stand in your education, I would love the opportunity to support you. My goal is to help you move beyond simply memorizing anatomical structures so that you truly understand them and their complex relationships within the human body.

Having recently relocated to Ottawa, I successfully passed the CORE and generalist exams myself. Prior to moving, I spent 5 years in the United States working as a lead sonographer, where I dedicated my time to guiding new students in perfecting their scanning skills. Additionally, I have a proven track record as a Wyzant tutor, helping students successfully clear their Abdomen and SPI (physics) examinations. To fully align with the SonographyCanada exam standards, I am expanding my lesson topics to incorporate professional responsibilities and patient care.
I have developed detailed, comprehensive study plans covering Abdomen, OB/GYN, and sonography physics. The curriculum consists of approximately 7 structured lessons per subject area, with each individual session lasting around 1 hour. To make complex concepts and daunting technical facts easier to grasp—particularly in physics—I heavily integrate visual images and relatable narratives into my teaching.
My sessions are conveniently offered online via Zoom. For students located locally in the Ottawa area, I am also available for in-person meetings to provide targeted guidance on scanning techniques. I firmly believe that this type of hands-on experience is invaluable, as it enhances both your practical scanning ability and your overall comprehension of anatomy.
