About Emma
I have been dancing strictly ballet since the age of seven, I am now twenty years old. I am currently in the process of earning my Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Dance at UMass Amherst and hoping to become a full time classical ballet teacher in later years. Before joining the UMass community, I danced for a former NYC Ballet dancer, Ashley Richardson, and later went on to dance for José Mateo Ballet Theater of Cambridge. Both experiences have led me to becoming the strong, confident and powerful dancer I am today. Using my knowledge I’ve gathered over the years to my full advantage, I can help you to achieve your goals as a ballet dancer.

I am very classical when it comes to my Ballet lessons, we start at the barre warming up our legs and feet for the rest of the class, and later we move to center to improve jumps and across the floor combinations. I focus largely on upper body and building artistic expression through balletic movements. Depending on your level, I dive deeply into details which will help you fine tune your technique for the long run. If interested, I would be happy to recommend specific exercises that will help you improve your core and balance so you can feel more confident on the dance floor while performing or just taking class.
