I've been receiving cello lessons from Amy for going on 3 years now from starting as a complete beginner, having never learned an instrument in my life. In that time I have gone from not even being able to read music to successfully tackling wide range of pieces. She is very encouraging and at the same time she can pick out exactly the adjustments needed to get more out of the instrument. She is also a very pleasant person and all my lessons have been a very enjoyable time even when my practice at home has faltered, the lessons are never a chore. She is always looking for new and interesting pieces that will encourage my growth with the cello and never lets being stuck on a particularly tricky technique become dull. All in all she is an exceptional tutor and I could not recommend anyone more highly.

I certainly cannot play perfectly, but I can play it, and that is entirely down to Amy’s skill, patience, and encouragement. She has guided me through every note, finger position, bowing technique, and musical phrase, always with good humour and enthusiasm.
