About Lydia
I am a CELTA-qualified native English speaker with several years' experience teaching English as a foreign language in the UK (Alba English and Randolph School of English, both in Edinburgh), France (Les Petits Bilingues, Paris), Spain (Escuela Oficial de Idiomas and Instituto Hemingway, in Santander and Bilbao respectively) and Germany (teaching intern in various high schools). I have just completed my Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) at Dundee University to become a medical doctor. I also have a first class undergraduate degree from Durham University in French, German and Spanish and I speak these languages fluently. I can easily empathise with my students learning English, given my own experience as a foreign language student. I have a master's degree in translating and interpreting from Bath University, so am also qualified to translate, interpret and proofread. I have translated and proofread numerous publications, including historical, legal and scientific texts.

I am a diligent teacher who tries to make classes both fun and educational. I try to engage students as much as possible and aim to teach concepts simply and clearly. I think most people learn by doing, so my classes are very practical.
