About Oscle
My name is Oscle, and I am a professional Cuban dance teacher based in London with more than 20 years of experience in dance education, performance, and choreography. I am a graduate of the Cuban National Arts Schools, internationally recognised for their high standards of artistic training.
I specialise in Salsa Cubana, Son Cubano, Rumba Cubana, Afro-Cuban dance, and Cuban body movement. Dance has been my passion and profession for most of my life, and I believe that learning to dance should be both inspiring and enjoyable.
My teaching method combines solid technical foundations with musicality, rhythm, coordination, posture, and cultural understanding. Every lesson is adapted to the student's goals, experience, and learning pace. Whether you want to dance socially, improve your confidence, prepare for performances, or deepen your understanding of authentic Cuban dance, I will guide you step by step.
Lessons usually last 60 minutes and include warm-up exercises, technique development, practical dancing, and personalised feedback. I focus on helping students build confidence while learning authentic movements and developing a natural connection with Cuban music.
I teach adults of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to experienced dancers. Private lessons are available for individuals, couples, and small groups.
Having performed and taught for many years, I bring not only technical knowledge but also the authentic spirit, culture, and traditions of Cuba into every class. My goal is to help students discover the beauty, joy, and freedom that dance can bring to their lives.

My classes are structured for all levels, from complete beginners who have never danced before to advanced dancers looking to refine their technique, musicality, body movement, and understanding of authentic Cuban dance.
I specialise in Salsa Cubana (Casino), Son Cubano, Rumba Cubana, and Afro-Cuban dance. These styles are deeply connected and form the foundation of Cuban dance culture. Son Cubano emerged in eastern Cuba during the late 19th century, blending Spanish and African influences. It became one of the most important musical and dance traditions in Cuba and is considered the principal root of modern Salsa. Rumba Cubana, with its rich Afro-Cuban heritage, developed in Havana and Matanzas and contributed many of the body movements, rhythms, and expressions that are still present in Cuban Salsa today. Salsa Cubana, also known as Casino, evolved from these traditions and became one of the most popular social dances worldwide.
My teaching method focuses on helping students understand not only the steps but also the music, rhythm, culture, and movement that make Cuban dance unique.
For beginners, classes focus on rhythm, timing, posture, basic footwork, body movement, coordination, partner connection, and confidence on the dance floor. Students learn the foundations necessary to dance comfortably and naturally.
Improver-level students develop more complex combinations, turns, leading and following techniques, musical interpretation, and greater fluidity in movement. The goal is to strengthen technique while expanding vocabulary and confidence.
Intermediate dancers work on advanced partner work, body movement, musicality, improvisation, styling, and a deeper understanding of Cuban dance traditions. Students begin to express themselves more freely through the music.
Advanced dancers focus on refinement, precision, creativity, performance skills, complex structures, Afro-Cuban influences, and the cultural roots behind the dances. These classes are designed for dancers who want to reach a high level of technical and artistic development.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes and are tailored to the individual goals of each student. Whether your objective is social dancing, personal development, cultural enrichment, or performance training, I will help you progress in a supportive, professional, and enjoyable environment while experiencing the authentic spirit of Cuban dance.

Details
My hourly rate includes personalised instruction, lesson planning, and guidance tailored to your individual goals and level of experience.
Lessons can take place at the student's location, online, or in a dance studio. If a dance studio is required, any studio rental or room hire fees are not included in the hourly rate and will be covered by the student.
For students located outside London, additional travel expenses may apply. In the case of workshops, events, or intensive training sessions requiring long-distance travel, transportation, accommodation, and other necessary expenses will be discussed and agreed upon in advance.
I also offer private lessons for individuals, couples, and small groups. Block bookings and regular training programmes can be arranged for students committed to long-term development.
My goal is to provide authentic, high-quality Cuban dance training while maintaining complete transparency regarding any additional costs.
