About Hafsa
My journey as an educator began at 17, when I started tutoring nursery-aged children at Kumon. While completing my university degree, I developed my experience and progressed to teaching GCSE and A Level students, discovering a passion for helping young people grow in confidence and achieve their potential.
English has always been more than a subject to me; it is a way of understanding humanity, culture, and the world around us. I have a deep passion for literature and believe that great works of art have the power to transform perspectives and inspire positive change. My university dissertation explored the moral virtues that literature can inspire in people, reflecting my belief in the profound impact of storytelling.
I am also passionate about cultural literacy and its role in creating opportunities for young people. I believe access to language, literature, and powerful ideas is essential in empowering students and challenging educational inequality. Outside of teaching, I continue to nurture my love for English through writing, exploring literature, and creating my own pieces. For me, teaching is about more than grades; it is about inspiring curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for learning.
My personal passions include travelling to awe-inspiring destinations, reading superb books and walking for tremendous amounts of time!

My tutoring is built around one simple belief: every student deserves teaching that is tailored specifically to them. No two learners are the same, so every lesson I deliver is carefully planned around your strengths, areas for development, and academic goals. I create bespoke resources, targeted revision materials, model answers, and exam-style practice designed to maximise progress and build lasting confidence.
As Deputy Head of English at a London secondary school, I have an in-depth understanding of the GCSE English Language and English Literature specifications, examiner expectations, and the knowledge and skills students need to succeed. Every day, I work with students across a range of abilities, using evidence-informed teaching strategies that develop analytical thinking, sophisticated writing, and effective exam technique.
Alongside my classroom and leadership experience, I am in the final stages of completing a Master’s in Educational Leadership, enabling me to combine the latest educational research with practical, proven teaching methods. My lessons are engaging, supportive, and academically rigorous, ensuring students feel challenged while enjoying the learning process.
Whether your goal is to improve confidence, secure a pass, or achieve the highest grades, I will provide expert guidance, personalised feedback, and a clear roadmap for success.
