About Callum
Having been a teacher for many years in both Further Education and in Secondary, I have helped countless numbers of students achieve their qualifications in both GCSE and Functional Skills English.
I thrive on providing outstanding teaching and learning in an environment that promotes creativity, confidence and inclusion. I always go the extra mile for each of my students and use carefully crafted and individualised materials to help support and develop learners of all abilities.

I have taught for many years in both further education and secondary schools so I am acutely aware of the needs of the individual when it comes to developing English skills.
In all of my lessons you will receive strong support, detailed feedback and a positive and celebratory working environment; I believe these are fundamental practices when studying English.
I have a strong knowledge and passion for creative writing and I endeavour to pass that along in writing focused sessions. Allowing students to express themselves in their writing and gaining confidence in their creative abilities is core concept of my teaching and I believe is integral to the GCSE course.
I am able to teach Year 9+ and I welcome adult learners who would like to improve their abilities in English.
My main strengths are teaching all ability students at GCSE level in both English Language and English Literature.
I also have extensive experience in delivering the Functional Skills qualifications to learners of all ages.
My lessons are typically 50-60 minutes and I can do double slots if required. Outside of lesson time, I ensure I provide feedback to the student in a timely manner with a task to improve their work so this doesn't take up valuable learning time in our sessions.
