About Nicola
I am a fully qualified English teacher with over ten years’ classroom experience, teaching pupils across the full secondary age range. I hold a PGDE, am PVG checked, and currently work in schools delivering high quality English lessons at all levels.
I tutor students aged 11–18, supporting learners of all abilities, including senior phase and exam preparation. Each session is tailored to the individual, with a clear focus on building skills, understanding, and confidence.
I pride myself on the strong relationships I build with pupils and believe that feeling supported and understood is key to success in English. My teaching style is calm, structured, and encouraging, helping students break down challenges and make steady progress.
My aim is to make English accessible, engaging, and achievable for every child, while supporting both academic progress and self belief.

With a background in graphic design and over ten years of teaching experience, I hold two degrees in English and film and bring creativity and enthusiasm to everything I teach. I’m passionate about my subjects and enjoy using filming in the classroom to engage learners. A parent of three grown children, I love reading, walking, and a wide range of crafts, and I’m a devoted animal lover with two dogs and two cats.
