About Yana
Teaching is my passion, not just a job. Having studied in Dubai’s British, IB and American schools, I understand different curriculums and what students are expected to know. As an experienced private tutor, I put my heart into every lesson and genuinely care about each student’s progress. Lessons can be tailored to what the student actually needs — whether that’s improving general English, becoming more confident speaking, keeping up with schoolwork or preparing for an exam.
English support includes:
• General & conversational English
• English Language & English Literature
• GCSE & ELL
• Reading, writing, grammar & vocabulary
• Essay writing and exam preparation
• Articles, journals, reports, summaries and other school assignments
For students coming from international schools or moving to an English-speaking/British school, lessons can also focus on getting used to the new curriculum, understanding schoolwork and building the English needed for subjects such as Maths and Science.
Some students need more structure, others learn better through conversation, examples or practical tasks — so lessons are adjusted as we go. Finding an easy way to explain things and getting along with students usually comes quite naturally, which helps create a relaxed environment where they are comfortable asking questions and speaking English.
The main focus is on making sure the student understands the material, not just memorises it or gets through one assignment️
