About Beverley
Hello! I'm Bev, an experienced educator with over a decade of supporting children, young people and adults in educational settings. I hold a BA (Hons) in English, a Postgraduate Certificate in Research, and I'm currently completing a Master's in Psychology at the University of Exeter.
My passion for education began through volunteering in primary schools as a teenager, before developing a university mentoring programme and later moving to China to teach English. Since returning to the UK, I've worked as an Academic Mentor, private tutor and in safeguarding roles, supporting learners from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities.
These experiences have shaped my approach to education. I believe every student is capable of making progress with the right support, and that confidence is the foundation of lasting academic success. I enjoy helping people discover their strengths, overcome challenges and develop a genuine understanding of what they're learning.
Outside of tutoring, I'm passionate about psychology, research and lifelong learning. I'm always looking for ways to deepen my knowledge so I can continue providing the best possible support to my students.

Every student learns differently, so I tailor my lessons to suit your individual goals, learning style and confidence level. Whether you're preparing for GCSEs or A Levels, learning English as an additional language, or returning to education as an adult, I'll create a structured plan that helps you make steady progress.
Our first lesson is all about getting to know you. We'll identify your strengths, the areas you'd like to improve, and the goals you're working towards before creating a personalised learning plan.
My lessons are engaging, supportive and focused on building genuine understanding rather than simply memorising content. Alongside subject knowledge, we'll develop revision strategies, exam techniques and critical thinking skills that will help you both in exams and beyond.
I have experience supporting students studying AQA, Edexcel and OCR specifications, as well as learners preparing for IELTS and TOEFL examinations. I also have experience teaching English as a Foreign Language to learners from a range of cultural and educational backgrounds.
Above all, I believe confidence is the foundation of lasting academic success. My goal is for every student to leave each lesson feeling more confident than when they arrived.
Lessons are available online for students across the UK and internationally, as well as in person throughout Liverpool and the surrounding areas.
