About Agnes
I am a highly qualified tutor with excellent communication skills and a variety of teaching methods to aid in achieving the highest results. I am currently studying Dentistry at university as my second degree. I work a lot with these subjects still and have developed unique teaching methods which have proven to achieve the highest possible results for my students over the years. Therefore, I would like to share my knowledge and various methods of studying that I believe to work best. I teach a variety of ages with the youngest being KS2, but specialising with GCSE and A-Level. With every first lesson, I carry out an assessment of the pupil's ability; I believe this is essential in order to grasp any areas of focus and to conduct a plan for the upcoming lessons with all the relevant topics that my pupil needs help with. I teach both online, or if you live locally I can teach in person. My basic lesson structure consists of an initial explanation of the topic, followed by a worked-through example. If I know that the pupil is then confident to work through that topic on their own, the second part of the lesson will consist of letting the pupil work through a series of questions. Those questions will be marked by myself and any of those that they struggled with will be explained. In some cases, one lesson for a certain topic may not be enough at which point further lessons will be spent until my student understands the topic fully. My teaching methods are adjusted to fit each student individually in a way that works best for them. This may include the addition of a variety of videos or any other resources needed. I believe that praise is very important when encouraging learning, as is consistent progress checking to see whether the student is improving. I will be conducting "milestone" tests every few lessons to see how the pupil has improved and to ensure that they are getting closer to their target grade. Studying doesn’t have to be boring, and I want to help every student understand each subject better so that they can enjoy it to its full potential and get the grades they want by teaching it in an interesting and captivating way. I will help students to build their confidence and support them throughout their journey in reaching their desired grades, ensuring successful results. I believe my passion for teaching coupled with my personalised teaching methods will allow any student of mine to unlock their fullest potential.
