About Jesse
My name is Jesse Reed, and I am a guitarist from the UK currently living in Amsterdam. I have been playing the guitar for 29 years, and I am probably more addicted to it now than ever. I have performed in numerous bands and recorded music at studios in the UK, Italy, and the Netherlands. I have been teaching guitar for over 20 years, both in groups and one-on-one. I achieved my grade 8 in guitar from Trinity College London, studied a diploma in popular music performance at the Cumbria Institute of the Arts, and then later continued my studies at Guitar X. Over the years, the guitar has been like a friend and even a therapist for me. I love learning and developing new techniques on the guitar and experimenting with new musical ideas. My personal goal is to find my own individual style, and I like to help other guitarists find theirs.

My strategy is always to begin by finding out as much as possible about my students and what they want to learn. I then work to create a lesson plan that will help them achieve their own musical goal. For some, it may be to learn jazz and delve deep into music theory; for others, it can be as simple as learning some basic chords and rhythms. Every pupil is different but equally important to me.
If you would like to learn songwriting, then my goal is to help you find your voice. We will, of course, go through the mechanics of songwriting, but ultimately, I want to help you find your own unique way of telling a story through music.
Everyone is different! There is not a one-size-fits-all approach that works! My job is simply to help you become better, and that's what I work hard to do!

As a guitar teacher, Jesse is able to fully adapt to your specific wishes, needs & favorite style of guitar playing. I really wanted to learn a specific song by fingerstyle guitarist John Fahey. In preparation Jesse analysed and taught himself this complex song and took the effort to create detailed and spot on tablature for me to use for reference. Besides that: Jesse is very patient, calm, encouraging and his instructions are clear and easy to follow. I highly recommend his lessons to guitar players of any skill level.
