Hello. I’m Jacob, an LSAT tutor based in Chevy Chase, Maryland, working for Prep for Success. I offer a unique approach to LSAT tutoring tailored to help you conquer the LSAT. While the companies I have worked for charge $100-150 per hour or more for tutoring, my services provide a great deal for the same high-quality guidance. We spend our sessions discussing the underlying mechanics of the LSAT – breaking down the Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension sections into manageable subsets and frameworks, depicting the pattern for each question type, and targeting areas of weakness. By identifying patterns and common pitfalls, we develop strategies to tackle each question type with precision and confidence, ultimately raising scores through a comprehensive understanding of the test's mechanics and strategic approaches to combat them. The LSAT employs a consistent array of tricks, often presenting trap answers that lure test-takers towards incorrect choices. By unraveling these tactics and recognizing how the test leverages our outside knowledge to mislead, we gain the upper hand in dissecting wrong answers. This insight not only helps us understand why these options clash with our instinctive reasoning but also empowers us to navigate the exam with confidence and precision. But that's not all! As a former teacher, I bring a unique perspective to LSAT tutoring. I believe in using relatable and fun examples to promote understanding and engagement. By infusing our sessions with fun (but effective) teaching methods, I ensure that learning is not only informative but also enjoyable, cultivating a positive atmosphere where you can thrive and feel motivated. Research shows that individuals who actively engage and find enjoyment in the material they learn are more likely to comprehend it better over time. With this approach, I not only make studying for the LSAT more enjoyable but also enhance your understanding and retention of the content, setting you up for success on test day. With my personalized approach and expert guidance, we can start this journey together toward your LSAT success!

When I first started studying for the LSAT, I felt completely lost. I was stuck in the mid 150s and honestly didn’t know how to break through. Working with Jacob totally changed that.
He didn’t just throw practice questions at me he taught me how to think like the test makers. His Logical Reasoning tips were a game changer, and his Reading Comp strategies finally made me feel like I had enough time to actually understand the passages instead of rushing.
Jacob was super patient and kept me motivated even when I hit plateaus. By test day, I felt way more confident and ended up with a 171.
If you want to raise your score, I can’t recommend Jacob enough. He makes the LSAT way less scary.I was struggling big time with Reading Comprehension and didn’t know where to start. A friend recommended Jacob, and I’m so glad they did! He’s super patient and has this way of explaining things that just clicks. He gave me these little tips and strategies that really worked for me. I went from feeling totally lost to being way more confident going into test day. Plus, he’s just a cool guy to work with—he keeps it real and makes the whole process way less intimidating. Highly recommend him if you need an LSAT tutor
Jacob is hands down the best LSAT tutor I could’ve asked for. I was completely overwhelmed by the test at first, especially with Logical Reasoning, but he broke everything down in a way that actually made sense. He has a super chill vibe, but he’s also really motivating, which helped me stay on track. I ended up raising my score by 12 points, and I honestly don’t think I could’ve done it without his help. If you’re looking for someone who knows their stuff and can actually make studying for the LSAT less stressful, Jacob is your guy
Jacob made LSAT prep clear and manageable. His teaching style is engaging, and he focus on understanding and helped my manage some test day anxiety! I saw a significant score boost! Highly recommend!
Jacob was funny and engaging with his funny and not-so-funny dad jokes. He did a great job breaking down the test and helping me understand the concepts better. I haven't taken the official exam yet, but my practice scores have already gone up from the high 140s to the high 150s and low 160s.
