About Geneva
Hello! I am a licensed Mathematics teacher with 10 years of teaching experience and have completed the academic requirements for a Master of Arts in Teaching Mathematics. Throughout my career, I have been committed to helping students develop strong mathematical foundations, improve their academic performance, and gain confidence in their ability to solve problems independently.
My teaching approach is student-centered, engaging, and tailored to each learner's needs. I believe that every student can succeed in Mathematics when concepts are explained clearly and systematically. I use step-by-step instruction, guided practice, visual representations, real-life applications, and proven teaching strategies to make learning meaningful and accessible. My goal is not only to help students arrive at the correct answer but also to understand the reasoning behind it.
A typical lesson begins with a review of prerequisite skills and an assessment of the student's current understanding. I then introduce new concepts through clear explanations and worked examples, followed by guided and independent practice. Throughout the lesson, I provide constructive feedback, address misconceptions, and encourage students to think critically and confidently when solving mathematical problems.
What sets me apart is my extensive classroom experience, advanced graduate training in Mathematics Education, and genuine dedication to student success. Having taught Mathematics for a decade, particularly at the Junior High School level, I understand the challenges students commonly face and know how to adapt lessons to different learning styles and abilities. I strive to create a positive, supportive, and respectful learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process.
