About Mr Colas
I am a dedicated and experienced middle school moderate disabilities special education teacher with a strong commitment to helping every student succeed. With years of classroom experience supporting diverse learners, I have developed the skills necessary to meet students where they are and guide them toward meaningful progress.
I pride myself on being patient, dependable, and highly professional in every session. I understand that learning can be challenging, especially for students who need additional support, and I work hard to create a safe, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and taking academic risks.

A Typical Lesson Plan
Each lesson is organized but flexible to adapt to the student’s needs:
Check-In & Review (5–10 minutes)
Review previous skills and discuss progress
Direct Instruction (15–20 minutes)
Teach a targeted concept in reading, math, or study skills
Guided Practice (15–20 minutes)
Work together to apply new skills with support
Independent Practice (10–15 minutes)
Student practices independently while receiving feedback
Wrap-Up & Goal Setting (5 minutes)
Summarize learning and set goals for the next session
