About Heidi
New to superprof, I’m an experienced music teacher and a certified music therapist in both Canada and the United States. I hold a bachelor's degree in piano performance, a master's degree in the philosophy of music, and have taught music history at the university level. I offer piano, keyboard harmony, analysis, improvisation and composition lessons for children and adults at all levels, adapted to your or your child's learning preferences.

In our lessons, we will leave method books aside and explore according to your (or your child’s) tastes and interests. Technique and theoretical knowledge will be introduced not through studies or exercises, but in the places where they are required in order for you to obtain the results you want — that is, where their absence presents a stumbling block to what you wish to play, or what you imagine creating. This approach fosters a well-rounded, flexible musicianship, and grounds theoretical knowledge in musical practice. Far from limiting the "level" that can be reached, this approach means that if exams are required for school credit or for entry to a conservatory, they are easy to prepare and never an end or a goal in themselves. First lessons are free of charge so that we can chat and explore your goals and interests. By Zoom or in person in Verdun or downtown.
