About Ruben
Hello! My name is Ruben, and I'm currently a PhD student in Particle Physics at the University of Oxford. I completed my undergraduate degree in Physics at UCL, graduating among the top students of my cohort. My strong academic background and research experience equip me to support students effectively in physics and mathematics. I'm dedicated to helping students understand complex concepts clearly and systematically, focusing on making physics and maths accessible and engaging. I have significant experience in tutoring and exam preparation, tailoring each lesson to match the specific needs and goals of my students. My aim is to build confidence and solid understanding, ensuring that students are well-prepared and capable of excelling academically.

My approach to tutoring focuses on clarity, patience, and building confidence. I tailor my teaching methods to each student's individual learning style, ensuring that complex concepts in maths and physics become intuitive and accessible. A typical lesson lasts one hour, which I find optimal to cover material thoroughly without overwhelming the student. However, lesson durations can be adjusted according to the student's needs and preferences. My qualifications include a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Physics from UCL and I am currently pursuing a PhD in Particle Physics at the University of Oxford. Alongside my academic studies, I have experience tutoring undergraduate students preparing for exams in physics modules, as well as secondary school students requiring support in mathematics and physics. My lessons are designed primarily for two groups: - University Physics undergraduate students in exam preparation or aiming to bolster their understanding of certain subjects. - Secondary school students aged 13-18 needing support in maths and physics, whether for exam preparation or to strengthen foundational skills.
