About Felicity
As a dedicated piano instructor with three years of teaching experience, my journey in music education began with a profound love for the piano and its transformative power. Holding a strong background in classical and jazz piano performance, I have had the privilege of sharing my passion with students of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
My approach to teaching is grounded in creating a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel motivated to explore their musical potential. I believe in a personalized approach that tailors lessons to meet the individual goals and learning styles of each student. Whether nurturing beginners through foundational techniques or guiding advanced students in refining their interpretation and performance skills, I strive to foster a deep understanding and appreciation for music.
Beyond technical instruction, I am committed to cultivating creativity, musical expression, and critical thinking in my students. I emphasize the importance of music theory, ear training, and sight-reading alongside practical skills, ensuring a well-rounded musical education. Through engaging lessons that integrate diverse musical genres and styles, I aim to inspire my students to discover their unique musical voice and develop a lifelong passion for playing the piano.
As a lifelong learner myself, I continuously seek to expand my knowledge and refine my teaching methods. I stay current with developments in music pedagogy and incorporate innovative techniques to enhance the learning experience. My ultimate goal is to empower my students not only to excel in piano playing but also to develop confidence, discipline, and a deep appreciation for the art of music, enriching their lives through the joy of musical expression.

In my piano lessons, I aim to foster a comprehensive and enriching musical experience that caters to students of all ages and skill levels. With a focus on classical and jazz styles, I bring three years of teaching expertise to create a dynamic learning environment.
Each lesson is carefully structured to balance technical proficiency, musical expression, and creativity. For beginners, we start with fundamental techniques such as hand positioning, scales, and basic music theory. As students progress, we delve deeper into more advanced concepts including interpretation, improvisation, and stylistic nuances specific to classical and jazz genres.
I believe in a personalized approach to teaching that respects each student's individual learning style and goals. Lessons are tailored to address specific areas of improvement while also nurturing the student's passion and enthusiasm for music. Whether a student aspires to perform professionally or simply wishes to play for personal enjoyment, I adapt the curriculum to support their aspirations and foster continuous growth.
Furthermore, I integrate a variety of instructional methods to keep lessons engaging and effective. These include playing duets, exploring different musical interpretations, analyzing compositions, and participating in recitals or performances. Such activities not only enhance technical skills but also build confidence and stage presence, crucial for a well-rounded musical education.
Ultimately, my goal as a piano instructor is to inspire a lifelong appreciation for music while empowering students to achieve their full potential as pianists. I am committed to providing a supportive and nurturing learning environment where creativity, discipline, and passion converge to cultivate musical excellence and personal growth in each student.
