About Leia
I have been playing piano since I was 9, and also learned the clarinet, the violin, and singing along the way. I’m passionate about music and enjoy performing - I love singing in choirs, playing clarinet in orchestras, and accompanying other instruments on the piano.
I have an ATCL in Piano Performance, as well as an MA in Instrumental Teaching from the University of Reading. I have seen so many students become disenchanted with learning music because- let’s face it - learning an instrument is hard. It takes practice, motivation, and time. It can be easy to give up along the way, especially if you don’t have a teacher who can keep you excited to come to the piano and motivated to practice, because you get to play songs you love.

I enjoy tailoring lessons to each individual student. 11 year old Swiftie? I’ll have you playing ‘Long Live’ in no time. Mature student who always wanted to learn but never had the time? I’ll help you feel comfortable on the keys and play music you recognise.
While reading music and learning the correct technique is at the heart of my lessons, I also incorporate learning by rote, pop music, and theory games.
