About Devora
I've been a high school science and math teacher since 2016, and the reason I do it has never changed: I love watching students go from confused and frustrated to genuinely confident. There's nothing quite like the moment a difficult concept finally clicks.
I hold degrees in both Chemistry and Pharmacy, giving me a deep subject-matter foundation that goes well beyond the textbook — so when a student asks why something works, I can actually tell them.
What drew me to tutoring is the depth of connection it allows. One-on-one, I get to really understand how a student thinks and tailor my approach to them specifically — something that's hard to replicate in a classroom, and what I find most rewarding about it.

All sessions are held online via live video (Zoom or Google Meet) and run at whatever pace works best for you. I use a shared digital whiteboard so we can work through problems together in real time — no passive watching, just active learning from start to finish.
A typical session might include reviewing your recent assignments or tests to identify gaps, working through practice problems side by side, or breaking down a concept that hasn't clicked yet. I tailor every session to what you actually need that day.
I work with students at all levels — from 9th grade through college — including honors, AP, and introductory college science and math courses. Whether you're just starting out in high school biology or struggling with a college-level chemistry class, I can meet you exactly where you are.
For our first session, I like to get a feel for where you are, what's giving you trouble, and what your goals are — whether that's passing an upcoming exam, raising your grade, or just finally understanding something that's been confusing you all semester. From there, we build a game plan together.
My biggest strength is taking concepts that seem overwhelming or abstract — think cellular respiration, genetics, or systems of equations — and making them genuinely make sense. I don't just show you how to get the right answer; I help you understand why it's right, so you can apply that thinking on any test or assignment thrown your way.
